I guess a fear of something. No wait, I think that was phobic.

Anxiety is an unpleasant, emotional state that involves a complex combination of emotions that include fear, apprehension, and worry. It is often accompanied by physical sensations such as heart palpitations, nausea, chest pain, shortness of breath, or tension headache.

Furthermore, it is something that cannot be separated with stress and panic since the three has a ripple effect. It causes an imbalance in physiological, social, emotional and psychological aspect of a person.

Well, I can generally explain, but if you were not sure what it is, you should ask her to explain it to you, especially if she is thinking of beginning any treatments on you.

Anxiety is a mental state in which a person exhibits in varying levels some form of nervousness or worry when confronted with a particular stimulus. For example, if I had a social anxiety disorder, I would display the aforementioned behaviors when having to speak in public-for example. It is beyond the normal “nervousness” that others my display in the same situation and must be severe enough to warrant serious interruption to one’s daily activities. There are also physiological responses that your body would display, for example, sweating, headaches, muscle tension, difficulty swallowing and even trembling. But other things can bring these behaviors on as well, not just public speaking. Perhaps even just knowing that you will be meeting strangers, or that you are going to a party where there will be a lot of strangers. There are other types of anxiety disorders as well and phobias fall into the category of anxiety disorders. Just type in “Anxiety Disorders” into google or another search engine and read up on it and ask your doctor to elaborate.
